This image is a cover of a combined CD release of the albums Fourth and 5 by the band Soft Machine. Its inclusion here is claimed as fair use because:

  • It illustrates the educational article Fourth (Soft Machine album) about the album for which the image is an alternate cover image.
    • The image is used as a means of visual identification of the article topic.
    • It is a low resolution image.
    • The image is only a small portion of the commercial product.
    • It is not replaceable with an uncopyrighted or freely copyrighted image of comparable educational value.
    • The use of the cover will not affect the value of the original work or limit the copyright holder's rights or ability to distribute the original.
  • It illustrates the educational article 5 (Soft Machine album) about the album for which the image is an alternate cover image.

The use of the cover illustration is in good faith, and its inclusion enhances the quality of the article without reducing the commercial value of the recording from which it was drawn. BNutzer (talk) 09:25, 21 January 2008 (UTC)
