Soccer kick

A soccer kick (also called a football kick) is a reference to a kick that is similar to kicks used in soccer or football. For short distanced passes, the instep or the outside of your foot can be used. For a longer or more power kick, the top of the foot is used which is generally referred to as using the laces.
The term is also used to describe a similar kick used as an attack in mixed martial arts. Soccer kicking a downed opponent in the head is often prohibited in MMA competitions.
