Snota is a prominent mountain in Trollheimen (Norway), and is also the highest mountain in the municipality of Surnadal.
The main peak is 1,668 m. Approximately one kilometer to the north, there is a summit of 1,562 m (Litjsnota).
The peak is accessible from a parking lot by Gråsjøen, from the cabin Trollheimshytta (DNT), and also from Vindøldalen/Vassdalen in the west (though less common).
The south wall is 200 meters high, and was first climbed in 1994. First winter ascent was 1997. Below the wall is a small glacier.[2]
