[edit] Rationale
An image of the late Ian Smith, when Prime Minister of Rhodesia. The image appears to be a screen shot of an RTV broadcast circa 1978. It was used for various promotional and publicity purposes. Fair use claimed for the Politics of Rhodesia article on the following rationale :
(1) The use of the image is to stimulate creativity for the enrichment of the general public. It is for a nonprofit, educational purpose. The article is on the subject of Rhodesian politices in which the subject was a key player. The image is impossible to recreate by a modern free use image since Smith died in late 2007.
(2) The image is of a factual and nonfictional nature and it has previously been widely published and circulated
(3) The image is being used for critical purposes
(4) This present use of the image has no impact on the image's marketability or sales value. It is an obsolete TV image, newspaper photograph and promo photograph. In the form used here it is low resolution.
(5) The country in which this image was created no longer exists.
