Hi. I see you have made Ariane (opera) into a disambiguation page. May I explain the normal practice here? First of all the disambiguation page is Ariane because, after all, that's where the reader will go. According to the Wikipedia:WikiProject_Opera#Operas:_avoiding_ambiguity, the first opera title (in this case presumably the Massenet) becomes Ariane (opera) and th second opera becomes Ariane (Martinů). I've already made the latter change. Anyway I'd really appreciate it if you could follow this as it will obviate any confusion. Thanks and regards. -- Kleinzach 04:04, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

I also see you have moved this opera from its English title to the above. This is once more against Opera Project practice. Can you please read Wikipedia:WikiProject Opera/English names? The policy is a pragmatic one. Obviously most opera-interested English readers can cope with western European names - but not Eastern European.

Would it be possible for you to read the Opera Project guidelines? The idea is to avoid re-inventing unnecessary wheels. If you disagree with anything or think it needs refining you can make a proposal on the Opera Project talk page and we can make project-wide corrections. The system we have is far from perfect and reform is desirable but what we don't need is an anarchic situation where everybody is doing their own thing. Thanks for your reply. If the WP:OP guidelines are "equivocal" then we should clarify them. What do you suggest?

BTW You are right in noting that this is one area where we don't always follow Grove, but bear in mind that we are under continuous pressure to translate all opera titles into English - obviously not something we want to do. -- Kleinzach 07:17, 21 August 2007 (UTC)

Hi, I notice that you've been working on the Opera in English article. Before you go any further I should warn you that the page is being totally revised here [1] by Moreschi as well. Ideally, you should transfer your info there as Moreschi has given an open invitation to everybody to edit his workspace. Then, when it's finished, we plan to replace the current article with the userspace one. I think there is something about this proposed revision on the article talk page. I hope this is acceptable to you (obviously nobody owns any pages here so you can do what you like anyway!) and won't inconvenience you too much. In general we avoid French titles of non-French works. In this case I don't know why it exists. Do you? Alexander Twice is listed as an English title at WikiProject Opera/English names. I think it's straightforward case of using an English name for an East European work, no? The article is absolutely minimal so it will be good if you have the time to develop it. -- Kleinzach 14:19, 27 August 2007 (UTC)
