Shaheen Malick b. June 27 1992

Shaheen Malick was born in Manhattan New York to his parents Pramilla Malick and Ibrahim Malick. While his father struggled as a worker at a gas station his mother worked at Pacifica Radio Station. At the age of 4 Shaheen began to study the violoncello with cellist Katherine Brainard. His talent was realized at the School for String in New York by parents and faculty. Shaheen later studied with Astrid Schween, cellist in the Lark Quartet, and continued for a few years. When Shaheen was 14 he was accepted to study at the Pre-College department of the Juilliard School. Since then he has appeared in many concerts with the Juilliard Pre-College Symphony, solo performances, and with his trio.
