Smallest Transformers
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Smallest Transformers is a toyline released in Japan between 2003 and 2004 by the toy company Takara. It is a line of randomly packaged micro sized Transformers figures based on the original G1 toyline. It is sometimes mistakenly referred to as Worlds Smallest Transformers (WST).
Even though a box has a certain figure on it, all Smallest Transformers are packaged randomly, and which toy it contains cannot be determined until the package is opened.

[edit] Reproductions
Although the Smallest Transformers line ended, the molds for Optimus Prime and Starscream have shown up in the hands of toy makers in China, resulting in variations of the original toys. Characters such as Sunstorm, Ramjet and Dirge have been released as unofficial toys, as well as color variants such as Generation 2, black, transparent and glow-in-the-dark Optimus Prime. Starscream in ghost and black versions have been produced. Reproductions of chase figures Thundercracker and Skywarp have been released out of China, but their colors do not match the official Takara toys and are often missing paint applications.
Other companies have made small-scale versions of other characters such as the Dinobots and combiner teams in a scale close to the Smallest Transformers.
