Sloane, New South Wales is a small locality whose main reason for being is its railway station and wheat silo

The railway is broad gauge but in 2008 with the agreement to gauge convert the North East railway line, Victoria from broad gauge to standard gauge, Sloane and the rest of the Oaklands railway line, Victoria will be orphaned on an isolated stub.
