This article refers to an instrument also known as a "slit drum" or "log drum", am I right?

Quite right. See also log drum and Slit-gong. There's work needed to merge and expand some of these, and I'm not convinced that it is really any sort of gong, primitive or not, any more than a butterfly is a fly. It's closer to a skull, temple block or wood block. Andrewa 17:29, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Merged slit-gong

I saw the task on the musical instruments project page so I took care of it. Swsnow 06:44, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
