Has anyone had any personal experiences of being slippered. I remember at school being slippered by the English mistress when I was sixteen years old. It was shameful and deeply humiliating, but the experience has lingered in my mind ever since. He

Yes - I had to have 'the slipper' both at home and at school. My Dad mostly took me over to his armchair in the living room when he needed to give me 'the slipper' as a punishment for misbehaving. On the occasions that he took me for 'the slipper', he either picked up his rather worn looking carpet slipper with a rubber sole, or a light leather open toed sandal, before leading me to the armchair where he usually administered the slipperings. After he sat down on the edge of the chair with his knees together, he would force me into a position where I was bending over his knee with my bottom raised and thrash my bottom with 'the slipper' until it was very sore,(usually there were tears). I had to be taken over to the armchair for 'the slipper' with my Dad on quite a number of occasions between the ages of 11 and 15 and can remember, with some embarrassment,an occasion when I was 17 and was taken to my Dad's armchair with 'the slipper' and put across his knee for a good, hard slippering. My Dad was red in the face from the exertion afterwards and I had a red face and a sore backside.----

At school, a number of teachers took me for 'the slipper'.

In first year my Geography teacher used his white size 11 plimsoll to slipper me for non-completion of homework. I had to wait behind after class while he took the plimsoll out of the cupboard and then he closed the door, instructed me to touch my toes, lifted the tail of my blazer and gave me one bottom-tingling whack.

In my third year, my form tutor invited me to accompany him into a quiet corner of the physics lab at lunchtime for missing one of his detentions. He took me into an alcove which was hidden from view where he asked me to bend over and gave me two hard whacks over my trousers with his 'slipper' which was actually a trainer.

The same teacher slippered me on six other occasions. Four of these were in private where he made me bend over a desk for up to five whacks with the slipper. Once I had to line up behind another boy to wait my turn to lie across a desk for two whacks with a plimsoll.
