Slavi Zhekov (Bulgarian: Слави Жеков) (born 21 August 1976) is a Bulgarian footballer. He currently plays as a midfielder for Beroe Stara Zagora.Zhekov is a right midfielder who can play well both as an attacking central midfielder."Slavi" as he is known among the Cherno more supporters, started his career in his home town Stara Zagora, playing for one of the oldest teams in Bulgaria PFC Beroe.Between 1996 and 1998 Zhekov played in Bulgarian B PFG with FC Olimpic,team from little city Teteven. In june 1998 he signed with PFC Chernomorets Burgas.For three years in Burgas Zhekov played in 62 caps and scored 8 goals.In 2001 he return in Stara Zagora and helped on Beroe to gone in Bulgarian A PFG.Because of his good displays he caught eye of Cherno more scouts and signed for "Cherno more" in june 2001 for fee of 100 000 €.
