Slam is one of Jeff Scott Soto's past projects. He formed Slam in 1991 with guitarist George Bernhardt. In addition to Jeff and George, the band featured several other players throughout its brief history, including Gary Schutt.
While searching for a band name, George joked that they should name the band after the fact that their music "slammed," so that's how the band's name originated.
A series of demos was recorded from 1991 till 1993.
