From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The article Rendezvous (live action role-playing group) has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.
Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki (talk) 00:52, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of Rendezvous (live role-playing group)
A tag has been placed on Rendezvous (live role-playing group) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an article with no content whatsoever, or whose contents consist only of external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that a copy be emailed to you. AngelOfSadness talk 23:01, 18 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Rendezvous (live role-playing group) will be deleted
Hi, and welcome to Wikipedia. Regrettably, your first contact with Wikipedia has been creating an article for something I'm guessing you're part of and want to share. While well intentioned, it's easy to stumble over our guidelines and policies while doing so. Perhaps the most important thing to know is that we have notability guidelines. We don't want Wikipedia to fill up with every organization that has ever been formed. A key reason is: if no third parties have ever written about the organization, how can we verify that the article is correct? So to keep the Rendezvous article up, you'll need to meet the organization notability guidelines. If you don't, it's only a matter of time until it's deleted. If you can't meet the guidelines today, I suggest spending some time getting media coverage for Rendezvous. Get a few local papers or television stations to cover Rendezvous. Then you'll have the citations you'll need to establish notability. Best of luck. — Alan De Smet | Talk 23:13, 19 March 2008 (UTC)
