Skyview Junior High School is a Junior high school in the Northshore School District in Bothell, Washington next to Canyon Creek Elementary School, near the Canyon Park area. Built in 1993, it supports a population of about 1,100 students in grades 7-9. The school is a feeder to Bothell High School. It is experiencing growth due to the spurt of new construction in the area. The Northshore School District underwent boundary line changes. It is one of the district powerhouses for sports and clubs. The staff of the school wish that every student participates in at least one club or sport during the year. It has one of the largest music departments in the district for junior highs. It is currently the site of the Science Seven "Science Trailblazers" project, which lets students learn about nature and use the woods in the back of the property.

[edit] History

The school experienced an unusual number of days closed in the 2006-2007 due to snow and wind storms. Every year the school hosts the Relay for Life of Northshore; an American Cancer Society walk and fundraiser. It is the site of the district's junior high dances. One of the school's counselors was the counselor of Blake Lewis when he attended Inglemoor High School. The school has high WASL scores.

[edit] Eagle Eye

Skyview provides its students with a year-long class of teaching the basics of television maintenance, program creation, and editing, called "Eagle Eye," named after the school's mascot, the Skyview Eagle. The staff also uses this to televise current events, and entertainment to all classes in Skyview during its 3rd period.
