[edit] Speedy deletion of Rodarte

A tag has been placed on Rodarte, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. hi, can you help edit it to the correct format? it shouldnt be deleted, but i was just trying to add the correct material to support the above typing.

Sure, no problem. The citation formats here can get convoluted, so don't feel like you need to learn everything all at once. --Bfigura (talk) 05:49, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
here is a citation / link to the FIT source http://studio-online.com/socomments/?m=20071010&paged=2 . does this help verify the information?--User:Skipperasta:
It looks like it, although I'm going to try and see if I can find the official link from the FIT site. Looks like you got your sig working. Congrats :) --Bfigura (talk) 06:48, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Sources

Hi there. Thanks for adding the sources of the different individuals. I'm going to go ahead and put them in the proper citation format (it's at WP:CITE) just to clean things up a bit. Best, --Bfigura (talk) 05:31, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

PS: There's also a style manual that governs what external links should include. I haven't taken a look through all the sources added, but most of the sources can probably be moved to support a specific point in the article. (There's no need to provide every source where Rodarte is mentioned :-) Best, --Bfigura (talk) 05:33, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
PPS: I was thinking that there's probably no need to list every celebrity who's worn the label, although that's more of a personal preference (at least I think it it, I haven't gone through the manual of style to see if there's a guideline somewhere). thoughts? --Bfigura (talk) 05:47, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

i agree- someone told us that me that it would be edited. is there a way of editing it down?

Sure, either you or I can do it, just by removing whatever we want from the article. I don't have a preference on what to leave though. (Oh, and PS, you can sign your posts on talk pages just by typing four tildes (~~~~). It helps others to know who's talking :-) --Bfigura (talk) 05:50, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

~~maybe the links at the bottom can be made into reference #s? i can not figure out how to do this. ?~~

I'll go take a look at the links. And for signing, another way to do it is to use the 'sign' button. It's right above the editing window (it's the 10th one from the left, and looks like a cursive signature). Best, --Bfigura (talk) 06:42, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
i am trying right now!--Skipperasta (talk) 06:45, 24 November 2007 (UTC) skipperasta

Apologies for the fact that it's a canned message :) --Bfigura (talk) 05:56, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

what does a canned message mean? skipper asta

Oh, sorry, it's an (american?) english idiom for a phrase that's not personalized. In this case, it was generated by a standard welcome template. --Bfigura (talk) 06:40, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
oh i see! i added a link to show the museum thing above for reference. ? and their is a citation reference after the dita quote- but there is a photo at the bottom. can you help make these references? i do not know how to add to the # lists.-- Skipperasta (talk) 06:44, 24 November 2007 (UTC) skipperasta Skipperasta (talk) 06:44, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
I got it (I think). To add the #'s, what you basically have to do is use reference tags. It looks kinda like this:
<ref> Reference information goes here (or use the {{cite web}} format)</ref>

There's a bunch of fancy ways to organize the reference information, but the most common one for the sources you're using would be {{cite web}}. If you click on the link, it tells you how to use it. Cheers, --Bfigura (talk) 06:50, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Just a note: I'm going to head to bed (although I didn't get a chance to work all the links in yet). If you have questions though, you can ask me on my talk page, or if you want a fast response, just type {{helpme}} somewhere on your page, and someone will automatically come along. Cheers & good night, --Bfigura (talk) 06:55, 24 November 2007 (UTC)
