I am a retired freelance writer and researcher living in the Washington, DC area. My work projects have been primarily in telecommunications, computer programming, medical imaging, psychology, marketing, and project management. It's been a good life, doing work for so many different clients, and now I am planning to increase my participation in public projects like Wikipedia. I sometimes serve as a book discussion facilitator in my community.
I am especially interested in improving Wikipedia's acceptance in the education community. I believe that it is a huge mistake to focus on the issue of authority instead of on the enormous potential of the encyclopedia as a springboard for understanding the interconnectedness of knowledge. I would be interested in discussing potential projects in this area with other Wikipedians.
