[edit] Classification of sixth grade
I suggest somebody puts the classification of what kind of school (elementary vs. middle) sixth grade belongs in into some detail. According to what I think:
- Sixth grade has been considered a part of elementary school historically, but it is gradually getting less common, and now it is most commonly considered part of middle school.
How close is this to being correct?? Georgia guy 23:25, 31 Jan 2005 (UTC)
- Sounds about right to me. I always considered 1-6 to be elementary and 7-8 to be JH. Other places back then did 7-9 for JH and 10-12 for HS. But now (or where I am now), JH is 6-8. You may want to compare with Ninth grade. - Keith D. Tyler [flame] 08:36, Feb 1, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Expand Article
Maybe we should expand this article? I like how it tells a bit about what sixth graders learn in math, but what about other subjects? I'll add some about the other subjects.--Anakata 01:52, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
- Please note that if you say that you will add info to an article, I normally expect it to mean within an hour unless indicated otherwise by your edit on the talk page. Georgia guy 01:55, 20 May 2006 (UTC)

- But I did add the info to the article within an hour.--Anakata 19:02, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Reason for revert
We should keep this article neutral. This article is not about the United States. There are other countries too. 6th grade or 8th grade is either the final year of elementary school. It says so in my dictionary. 5th grade can be the final year...but it's not always. Saying 6th grade is a part of secondary school sounds more neutral than saying it is part of middle school. middle school means junior high school too. so which one should we take? It's better if we say secondary school. (209.177.21.6 - Talk)
