[edit] License tagging for Image:Gw evidence 1.png
Thanks for uploading Image:Gw evidence 1.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 08:05, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your edits to Gatineau
Gatineau's (or, more particularly, Hull's) past as a source of nightlife for staid Ottawa is important information that merits mention in the article, but your edits to Gatineau are problematic for a few reasons.
First, it is inappropriate to refer to other editors as liars. It would be helpful if you review Wikipedia:Civility, Wikipedia:No personal attacks and Wikipedia:Assume good faith.
Second, please do not add photos that have been tagged as potential copyright violations to articles. Wikipedia strictly enforces its copyright policy, which you can review at Wikipedia:Copyright violations.
Third, edits to the article must conform to Wikipedia:Verifiability, Wikipedia:No original research, Wikipedia:Neutral point of view. Your opinions as to society's view of women is not appropriate content for the article. Further, you will need to source the claim that erotic dancing is popular in the area -- providing links to strip clubs is insufficient. Arguably, the claim does not merit mention in the article unless you can provide reliable sources that show that its popularity in Gatineau is somehow unique or greater than other places. The "urban dictionary" is not a reliable source. Hull does have a history in respect of its nightlife, and does have a lower drinking age -- that is good information for the article, but again, you should provide sources (Wikipedia:Citing sources) should help), and stick to the facts. Here are some other pages that you might find helpful:
- The five pillars of Wikipedia
- Wikipedia works by building consensus
- How to write a great article
- Manual of Style
I hope that helps. Skeezix1000 22:54, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Gw evidence 1.png)
Thanks for uploading Image:Gw evidence 1.png. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Brad Beattie (talk) 18:15, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of Template:HRH
A tag has been placed on Template:HRH requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section T3 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a deprecated or orphaned template. After seven days, if it is still unused and the speedy deletion tag has not been removed, the template will be deleted.
If the template is intended to be substituted, please feel free to remove the speedy deletion tag and please consider putting a note on the template's page indicating that it is substituted so as to avoid any future mistakes.
