[edit] Confusion with the Name

There is an overwhelming number of book sources referring the founder as Sir Thomas Jackson. However it is uncertain as to whether his lastname is really Bart or Jackson. The earliest account of info about him seems to come from "The China Year Book" edited by Henry Thurburn Montague Bell in 1939 with the original at Stanford university. Original imprint varies from 1912-1919. No, I do not have access to this. Just some info I looked up. If anyone can help clarify, it would be great. Benjwong 18:06, 17 February 2007 (UTC)

His surname was Jackson. "Bart." is a postnominal abbreviation for Baronet, an honour conferred upon him on 4 August 1902. I have moved the article to Sir Thomas Jackson, 1st Baronet to make the title uniform with other articles on Baronets. Opera hat 17:38, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for solving the mystery. I moved the info to the page. Benjwong 17:51, 30 April 2007 (UTC)
