Npt sure who Sir Gilbert Claughton was ( possibly something to do with the Earls of Dudley?) but the school was called the Dudley Intermediate School up unti 1957. It was that rare beast of the tripartite system of the post 1944 education act and the creation of the 11+ system ( because not many places created them) "The Grammar Technical School"

They had a lovely black red and yellow striped tie to their uniform. Very distinctive.
