I am basically confused as to the address of the Mauseleum. Is it in Hove? is it in Brighton? Is it on Paston Street, Kemp Town? Is it on eastern terrace? When was it built? One source says 1892 and another 1876?? Here is a picture of it:http://www.womenofbrighton.co.uk/florasassoon.htm --Filll 20:00, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

The mausoleum is in Brighton – on St. George's Road and Paston Place (at the corner), in Kemptown. Possibly Kemp Town in fact, depending on the narrowness of one's definition of the two! ;) The houses of Eastern Terrace are at the other end of Paston Place and the houses further inland which now adjoin the mausoleum were probably built either as service buildings or built a little later than the seafront houses. So far as I understand it, the mausoleum was originally at the bottom of the garden, rather than appearing to be part of a different street. It's nicely placed diagonally opposite a church, so feels rather like part of the graveyard too, given a little imagination to get past the modern busy road. I haven't got my copy of The Encyclopædia of Brighton (see references in Brighton article) to hand to check the date, but I'd be surprised if it were as late as 1892.
The confusion with Hove is probably due to the entirely separate memorial which is mentioned on the web page you cited. – Kieran T (talk | contribs) 21:08, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Discussion

Any additional comments:
  • How unhelpful of them! ;-) Whilst it's a shame to break the naming conventions for Baronets, it's more important to properly disambiguate, so I'm tentatively in favour of the move; presuming that both titles are thoroughly "official" (one of Kensington Gore and one of Bombay?) and not the result of a family dispute? – Kieran T (talk) 13:59, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
  • Shouldn't the move therefore be to Sir Edward Albert Sassoon, 2nd Baronet, with a {{distinguish}} hatnote to Sir Edward Elias Sassoon, 2nd Baronet? -- Jheald (talk) 22:30, 30 April 2008 (UTC)
