Sir Richard Cooper,1st Baronet

Sir Richard Powell Cooper (1847-1913) was a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and head of an agricultural chemical manufacturing company.
He was nephew of William Cooper who established 'Cooper and Nephews' at Berkhamsted in 1852, which business he inherited on his uncle's death in 1885. The business was later merged and became Cooper McDougall Robertson Ltd.
He lived at Shenstone Court, Staffordshire and was High Sheriff of Staffordshire in 1901 and Deputy Lieutenant of that county. In 1905 he was created 1st Baronet Cooper of Shenstone Court, see Cooper Baronets.
He married Elizabeth Ashmole in 1872 and was succeeded by his son Richard.
