Sir Lancelot (clipper)

Sir Lancelot was a clipper ship, measuring 197.6ft x 33.7ft x 21ft, and of 886 tons net. She was built in 1865 by Robert Steele & Co, Greenock, called the Yacht of the Indian Ocean. Hong Kong to London 98 days in 1870/71. Channel to Shanghai 100 days 1874. Best run Shanghai to New Your 95 days 1869
In 1895 under Persian ownership, she was rumoured to have sunk on 1 October during a cyclone near Sand Heads, Calcutta whilst on passage from the Red Sea loaded with salt.
