Sir John Shelton was a courtier during the reign of Henry VIII of England. He lived from 1476/7 to 1539. He was married to Anne Shelton, nee Boleyn, the aunt of Queen Anne Boleyn. His daughter, Mary Shelton was a maid-of-honour, poet and mistress to Henry VIII. John Shelton and his wife had custody of Henry's daughters, Mary and Elizabeth during the 1530s.
