Sir John Rogerson, a wealthy merchant and property developer, was elected Lord Mayor of Dublin in 1693-94, and also represented the city in the Irish Parliament. He built his country residence, "The Glen" or "Glasnevin House" outside the village of Glasnevin. He has a quay in Dublin named after him.
Direct descendants of Sir John Rogerson now reside in London, including John Rogerson who has a career in television post production as a respected sound mixer.[citation needed]
