Sir Dingwall Latham Bateson

Sir Dingwall 'Dingo' Latham Bateson, CBE, MC, (1898-1968), was a lawyer and President of the Law Society.

Bateson was awarded the Military Cross (MC) whilst a second lieutenant attached to the 2nd Battalion, Gloucestershire Regiment.[1]

Bateson was a lawyer at firm Slaughter and May.[2]

[edit] Homosexual friends

Though Bateson was married, he had various important homosexual friends. Noel Coward named his yacht after Bateson and Roland Gwynne, Mayor of Eastbourne 1928-1931 and lover of suspected serial killer John Bodkin Adams, left Bateson his whole estate in his will. [3]

Bateson died in a shooting accident.[3]
