The history regarding Shigeo Shingo may not be correct. First, I'm not sure he was a Toyota "Chief Engineer". He appears to have been a consultant. Second, the article may give Dr Shingo too much credit for "inventing" SMED. Think I agree with your comment about his not being "Chief Engineer" and actually being a consultant. Interesting link. He claims to have started his thinking in 1950's with distinction between internal and external setup. Facius (talk) 16:29, 22 November 2007 (UTC)
