[edit] Alleged track listing

Since we have already seen track listings showing up with attribution, I did see on [1] a track listing. I am in some doubt as to whether we should consider this a "reliable source" for purposes of putting it in this article and would appreciate the guidance of other editors, since this will likely come up again before there is an official announcement.--Wehwalt 18:12, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Well, first and foremost, it isn't reliable source. However, just using my own judgement, "When I'm Gone" doesn't really sound like an opener track. Of course we never do know (Rascal Flats' "Take Me There" was an odd choice), but again, it isn't a reliable source. — Ian Lee (Talk) 19:12, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
AbsolutePunk is a reliable source as long as the info isn't posted by some fan in a comment. But this was a news statement posted by a professional album reviewer and CEO of AbsolutePunk, so I'd consider it reliable. He says he listened to it and he believes it's self titled, but I really think this is the official track listing. And When I'm Gone is definitely the first track. Watch the webcast from the 29th. One of them says something like "When I'm Gone, the first song on our new album". So I'm gonna put the track listing back up for now until we get proof from the band or some better source that says it's different. ╦ﺇ₥₥€Ԋ (talk) 23:43, 5 November 2007 (UTC)

At the very least (and as I have done), we should denote the source, and that it is not yet confirmed by band. And the first single is not necessarily track one, as SNGA "Shut Up" was track 1 and Welcome to My Life the first single. As for the self titled, could well be, but we need something a little more solid before we change this article's name. I think they are bound to tell us within two weeks or so (though I don't know anything about the timing).--Wehwalt 00:28, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
I may be wrong, but the way they worded it in the webcast seemed to indicate that it was track 1, which further raises the possibility of this being the correct track listing. But it'll be confirmed as real or not real soon enough. ╦ﺇ₥₥€Ԋ (talk) 00:51, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

It is only alleged and not from a official source so Iam going to remove it again Please wait for a official announcement (Julesy202 01:39, 6 November 2007 (UTC))

It's not really alleged. Jason Tate from AbsolutePunk has already listened to the album. I believe AbsolutePunk is a reliable source, and many album articles have had "alleged" track listings up for weeks before the real listing was confirmed. The source was denoted and it was mentioned as not confirmed yet, so there's no reason it shouldn't be there. ╦ﺇ₥₥€Ԋ (talk) 02:43, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
You know Tim, I was going to keep my mouth shut and see how this played out, but I'd have to agree with Julesy and Wehwalt here. It should most definately be removed as I will do so. This far away from the album being sold, our readers are not going to lose anything if we're right nor are they going to gain anything. Flipping the coin you see the same. If we're wrong it probably won't matter, but on the offchance that we are, it's better not to. — Ian Lee (Talk) 03:27, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

I agree with Ian. The fact that we have put a track listing in already caused discussion on the fan boards, and they are unhappy that of the 15 songs recorded, supposedly only 11 will be on the CD (we don't know this). And there could still be a change. I doubt if the CD order is in stone yet (or whatever CDs are made of!). Better to keep it out than to be wrong. I don't doubt the guy's heard it, I know at least one person who has heard it (and I hope I'll get a chance to hear it next month). But that doesn't convert the hearer into an expert on SP. As for the vlog, I am not going to sit through half an hour of discussions on Pierre's tattoo and Halloween costume to find it, but I don't think they were so careful with words as to justify that inference. Rambling a bit here, but let's wait for the band.--Wehwalt 11:27, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

OK. Whatever. I don't really care that much if it's up or not. But I doubt they'd change the track listing. Once the final recording and mixing steps are done, that's it. And there were only 11 songs on Still Not Getting Any... But we can wait for a confirmation of the track listing before putting it up. I guess that would be better. ╦ﺇ₥₥€Ԋ (talk) 21:19, 6 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:M 2fbccf7ad15192674ee18cb225fa5fcb.jpg

Image:M 2fbccf7ad15192674ee18cb225fa5fcb.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

[edit] Title

I'm not doubting that the album is self-titled, but where is this official announcement that tells the album title? ╦ﺇ₥₥€Ԋ (talk) 02:39, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

See Talk:Simple Plan. — Ian Lee (Talk) 02:48, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

It is purely OR of course, but I confirmed the title last night with the woman from the label who is accompanying them on the Europe promo tour.--Wehwalt 14:42, 13 November 2007 (UTC)
