Simon is a 2004 Dutch drama film directed by Eddy Terstall. The story is about two friends, one heterosexual and one gay person. Same sex marriage and euthanasia are themes of the film. The film has won four Golden Calves.

One is a gay dentist who marries his lover, and the other is Simon (Cees Geel (nl)), a heterosexual ladymagnet. they raise a close friendship late in the 80's which is interrupted by a critical failure of Chamiel.

After 12 years Chamiel's got a close encounter with Simon and learns Simon has became very ill, namely cancer and he won't survive it...

Simon has a daughter Joy (Nadja Hüpscher) and a son Nelson (Stijn Koomen). They build their own friendship with Chamiel and his male husband, and after simon's death Chamiel adopt them.
