[edit] Further info on Irvine Ranch

While doing some research on a possible rancho article, this town came up. The link seems nebulous at best but I wonder if anyone has info on the ranch. Ronbo76 04:54, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

The links have similar info, but I couldn't determine the original sources. You might try sending an email to the Irvine Foundation or contacting the Irvine Historical Society (couldn't find a website). Mike Dillon 07:02, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Mike, thanks. I am chasing down rancho info no matter how obscure. Then, within the next months will begin work on the most promising leads. At least the others might be sources for this article, too.Ronbo76 07:06, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Odd, but when I look at the James Irvine disam link, his (the Dad) was dead. He seems notable because he was involved with the Gold Rush. He made his fortune and then used the money to come south. Ronbo76 07:10, 24 January 2007 (UTC)

Little conjecture on James Irvine is that he may have heard about the gold in Irvine and worked the mines. I saw the article with the irwd.com but dismissed it because it was solely about gold future/pricing info. Ronbo76 07:23, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
