Silvio d’Amico Academy of Dramatic Arts

Accademia d'arte drammatica Silvio d'Amico (Silvio d’Amico Academy of Dramatic Arts) is located on Via Vincenzo Bellini in Rome, Italy, and specializes in the training of actors and theatre directors.

It is the only institute of its kind in Italy that is recognized and funded jointly by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers/Performing Arts Department and the Ministry of Education.[1]

Established in Rome on Febriary 13, 1936, the institute replaced the previous school of drama named after Eleonora Duse, whose students included Anna Magnani, Paolo Stoppa and Sergio Tofano. The institute was established by the decree of critic and writer Silvio D'Amico.
