Silver Flash Stakes

The Silver Flash Stakes is a Group 3 flat horse race in the Republic of Ireland for two-year-old thoroughbred fillies. It is run over a distance of 7 furlongs (1,408 metres) at Leopardstown Racecourse in July.
It was transferred to its present venue in 1991, having previously taken place at Phoenix Park in early September. For the first two years at Leopardstown the race was contested in late October, moving to early June from 1993. At this point the race was cut to 6 furlongs, a distance which was maintained until 2006, returning to 7 furlongs the following year. Now run slightly later in the summer, the race was promoted to Group 3 status in 2008 having earlier been run at Listed level.
