Siletz River

The Siletz River (suh-LITZ) is a river, approximately 70 mi (113 km) long, on the Pacific coast of Oregon in the United States. It drains 202 square miles (523 km²)[1] of Lincoln County in the Central Oregon Coast Range, rising only 20 mi (32 km) from the ocean and flowing in a highly zigzag course, changing direction multiple times.

It rises in a remote area of western Polk County and flows southwest, to Siletz, then generally northwest towards the coast. It enters the Pacific through Siletz Bay (44°53′60″N 124°00′30″W / 44.899949, -124.008243) south of Lincoln City.

The river's average discharge varies from 131 cfs (August) to 3360 cfs (December).[2] The lowest flow was recorded on October 20, 1987 and October 29, 1987 at 47 cfs. The highest was 53,800 cfs on November 26, 1999[1]
