[edit] SG 552.

I'm not going to edit it, but these rifles are NOT called the SIG 552, SIG 551, or SIG 550. They are the SG 550, SG 551, and SG 552 manufactured by Swiss Arms of Switzerland, and not Sig Sauer.

SIG Arms USA is strictly the importer of these rifles, which is where the confusion comes from.

Added some additional information about the modifications done to the SG 552, compared to the 550 series and included some precise specs. Posted pictures of my personal civilian SG 552 version.

Can you cite your source for the nomenclature? 71.238.205.137 02:29, 11 August 2007 (UTC)

The nomenclature is used in official Swiss Arms documents, news releases, technical manuals and drawings. The SIG552 confusion arose after SIGArms started using incorrect nomenclature in the USA. Koalorka 18:04, 12 August 2007 (UTC)
