[edit] Suffering 40,000 casualties

The current version of this articles includes the following ungrammatical line:

For three days the Russians assaulted and did nothing but bring suffer 40,000 casualties.

It is not clear whether this is supposed to mean that the Russians caused 40,000 Austrian casualties, or that the Russians suffered 40,000 casualties of their own. Could someone familiar with this datum correct the syntax? Thanks. ~ Jeff Q (talk) 23:39, 4 January 2006 (UTC)
