"Shaikh Quraishi, Hashemi, Syed, Siddiqui, Shaikh Siddiqui, Farooqi, Osmani, Alavi are family names signifying Arab ancestory and belong to Shaikh community." Should this line be removed? It is absolute crap, there are millions and millions of people with this surname in the subcontinent, and it is more likely signifying ones shame of his own Indian ancestry, and a desperate attempt to attach themselves to another group that is percieved as stronger, such as the Arabs. [edit] More Problems

"Shaikh Siddiqui is a multiethnic community in South Asia, found particularly in Pakistan and Bangladesh, and generally in India." This line makes no sense. Why would the Siddiqui surname be found particularly in Pakistan and Bangladesh, but generally in India? There are more Muslims in India than there are people in Pakistan, if anything India would have an equal amount if not more of people with this surname. Mustaqbal 22:50, 25 December 2005 (UTC)
