Side x side

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Side X Side is a term used to describe a class of off-road recreational and utility vehicles also known as a UTV (utility vehicle) or RUV (recreational utility vehicle). The term Side X Side stems from the vehicle's seating arrangement where two seats or a bench seat allow for two people to sit next to each other, hence the term side x side (or side by side). One person is the operator or driver, the other person is a passenger. Although typically equipped with four wheels, six-wheel models exist for specialized applications.

Side X Side vehicles are used primarily as a utility vehicle to haul supplies and transport people in off-road type conditions. Their ability to navigate through rugged terrain not accessible by larger, or less capable vehicles, makes the Side X Side an optimal choice for off-road travel. Additionally, Side X Sides are growing in popularity as a recreational vehicle for use in off-road conditions
