[edit] Is this knot in Ashley?

The closest thing to it I've identified in ABOK is #1025, but with the working and standing parts switched in function and the figure-eight portion slipped. Topologically it's the same, though. The Packer's knot is quite similar also, but the standing part runs through the other end of the figure-eight. Nice hitch and clever tying method in any case...
