Shutze Lake is in Ontario, near the Berens River which flows into Lake Winnipeg. The lake is north of the west end of Barton Lake (see the map on p.124 of Schuetze, 2001). It was named after Luther Schuetze, who carved his name on a tamarack tree without the c and e because there was not room for them (see p.98 of Schuetze, 2001).
