Shumerlya (Russian: Шумерля; Chuvash: Çĕмĕрле) is a town in the Republic of Chuvashia, Russia, located on the right bank of the Sura River on the Nizhny Novgorod–Ulyanovsk highway. Population: 36,239 (2002 Census); 41,986 (1989 Census); 35,000 (1974).
