Shripad Mahadev Mate

Shripad Mahadev Mate (1886-1957) (or Shri Maa MaaTe) was a Marathi writer.

Mate was a professor at S P College in Pune. His most famous book is Upekshitanche Antrang (Life of Neglected People). He was a social worker whose work among dalits earned him the sobriquet 'Mahaar Mate', thinker who opened up horizons of his readers, an able teacher who could tap the potential among his students and inspire them, writer who announced the plight of poor Marathi people.
