Parola is located at 20.88° N 75.12° E[1]. It has an average elevation of 261 metres (856 feet).

As of 2001 India census[2], Parola had a population of 34,800. Males constitute 52% of the population and females 48%. Parola has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 76%, and female literacy is 61%. In Parola, 13% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Image:BalajiParola.jpg Parola is famous for Shree Balaji and Great Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi. Shree Balaji first arrived in Parola 345 years ago. It's very old temple with huge stone entrance called "Nagarkhana" and in front of the temple there is "Garudadhwaj" Temple website: www.shreeparolabalaji.org By www.abhishende.com

Every year there is a procession for Shree Balaji which is very famous in Maharashtra and people gathers to see the procession.

Parola also famous for very old fort build by Khander rao around 16th century. specialty of this fort is security wall build around the fort and covering the old town. There is Lord Mahadeva temple at the middle of Fort. This fort has 270 wells created from solder security purpose and they are inter connected. There is under ground road from the center of the rani mahal to 20 KM away small town called nageshwar.

The name parola is derived from very old term Parwai meaning - rows of Pimple trees.
