ShoeFM is an online radio station broadcasting in Melbourne, Australia. ShoeFM broadcasts from [www.shoefm.com] and Hosts on servers throughout the internet. ShoeFM is a trademark of MJS-Enterprise. Its age target is 13 to 30 year olds.

ShoeFM was created on April the 9th 2006 by Matthew Solomon also currently station manager. The first broadcast was 10 minutes late on air due to techinical difficulties in the connection and at that point there was no more than 3 shows on the time table. The station was originally run off a simple program with one microphone and an internet connection all of which connected to the server and broadcasted what was (back then) a terrible quality live sound of talking and prechosen music. THe first 6 months werent easy as people were not at all used to the ieda of internet radio and didnt much see the point. The original idea of the station was to target those who would go on there computer at the end of the day, browse the internet and go on messenger. Its an easy listening station that can be tuned into via the site itself or opened in a range of media players that people could listen to when they are chatting on msn or browsing the internet, something simple with easy music and relaxed hosts.

ShoeFM broadcasts through a service known as shoutcast. Shoutcast is a station server that can broadcast radio streams from your particular host server. ShoeFM can hold a steady 1000 listeners on its server. The streams, at highest, run at 80kbps, so those without atleast a broadband connection are not able to listen without a very poor quality status. ShoeFM's stream are done on server address ports, and as these ports can be overcrowded and under managed the actual stream is hosted on a bought server stream.
