[edit] Expansion work
Expansion request: we need a list of winners. Possibly modeled on the table in Kodansha Manga Award. Wikilinked to the manga and artist articles, of course, which articles then need to have the appropriate mention and [[Category:Anime and manga awards|category]] added. —Quasirandom 14:53, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- I can help fill out the form, and get the wikilinks (provided people have remembered to make the from the jwikipedia to the correct English page) but I'm going to leave it up to you to go put the appropriate mention on the individual pages. Doceirias 23:23, 16 August 2007 (UTC)

- Fair enough. I've been spending more time poking at doing just that for the Kodansha awards. —Quasirandom 23:39, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
- Yay filling in. That went faster than expected. I start going through the entries, seeing if we can't match more wikilinks up, and adding the information on articles that do exist, over the next week or so. —Quasirandom 03:14, 17 August 2007 (UTC)

- There -- finished going through wikilinked titles & artists, adding mention of award and a category. *whew* —Quasirandom 00:34, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

BTW, in case my rationale for wikilinking isn't clear, if I find that somewhere on Wikipedia, someone has already wikilinked to a empty article on the mangaka or title, I've been wikilinking it here as well -- by way of showing it's already recognized as a wikigap. Or to put it another way, this is by way of showing what's higher priority. —Quasirandom 00:13, 18 August 2007 (UTC)
Which reminds me: Doceirias, which source did you use for filling out the table? Could you cite it as a reference? —Quasirandom 17:35, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
- I just used the Japanese wikipedia page, I'm afraid. Doceirias 18:37, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
-
- Ah. Does the Official Website list the winners? —Quasirandom 18:51, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

- Coo. I've cited it, in admittedly a rather kuldgy format, but I couldn't think of a better way. (Can you say "Cleanup needed," boys and girls? I knew you could!) —Quasirandom 19:29, 19 August 2007 (UTC)

Next expansion task: full out that stub of an introduction, with an emphasis on bringing out the prestiege of this award. Once I finish working through the table cleanup/adding the award to the winners' articles, I'll take a stab at cannibalizing from the German wikipedia article, but if anyone wants to jump in first, feel free. —Quasirandom 14:41, 20 August 2007 (UTC)
Oh, also, we need to list the "special awards" the intro mentions. (Maybe I should set up a to-do list...) —Quasirandom 01:00, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Award for person or work?
Can somebody clarify whether the award is given to the artist (for the work(s) cited) or the work (identified with the artist)? I ask, because the citations in the German Wikipedia article are to the artist, not to the work as we're doing here. Other references about the Web are similarly ambiguous, and I alas cannot check the official site to confirm one way or another. —Quasirandom 07:30, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
- Just to tie this off, discussion on this has been held over here. —Quasirandom 04:14, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Catching up on citations
As a result of this AfD, I'm starting a pass to reference all the awards in the recipiant articles. Which I should have done when I added mentions in the articles. Along the way, I plan to create stubs of all the mangakas without articles, as best I can. I leave stubs for works to others, as I've less information in English for most of those. —Quasirandom (talk) 19:30, 16 December 2007 (UTC)
