From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Unofficial arms of the Metropolitan Borough of Shoreditch, 1900 - 1965.

The borough did not have a coat of arms, so the corporation adopted the arms of John de Northampton, second lord of the manor of Shoreditch.

The council added a motto: More light, more power, referring to the municipal electricity generating facility.
