Kaede and Takeo have five children. She lost the first in Grass for his Pillow, when her father attacked her. Kondo Kiichi killed Lord Shirakawa, not Shizuka.

[edit] 'The Curse'

I was going to edit this part of the article - stating that the curse on Kaede is deemed to have passed once she falls in love with Takeo. However, even he dies at the climax of Harsh Cry, so is it the consensus that the legend is just about true or not? Melaisis (talk) 18:16, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

I apologise for all my mistakes on this article - I was writing it from memory. Kaede and Takeo did indeed have five children. And Kondo did kill Lord Shirakawa. I am not sure if the curse on Kaede was deemed to have passed after she fell in love with Takeo. I do not think it was. Her curse was only a rumour, anyway. Takeo was prophecised the die at the hands of his own son, so he had to die at the end of Harsh Cry. I doubt this was anything to do with the rumoured curse. LizParker 17:46, 21 April 2008
