Ship Of Fools is the fourth episode of Kappa Mikey.

[edit] Summary

After hearing of the release of his new video game, Mikey tries desperately to get his hands on it - but at the release, fans carry away every available copy. After many unsuccessful attempts at obtaining a copy, he is forced to 'pirate' a copy - that is, get it from actual pirates. He does get the game, but the pirates take something from him in exchange - Gonard! Now, Mikey must save his friend, even if it endangers his life, and the game.

[edit] Subplot

In Mikey's absence, Lily is getting swept into the charm of Suave Mikey, a Mikey look-alike, whom they mistake for the real Mikey. However, Mitsuki is quite suspicious- does Mikey really have a car, a boat, and memories of a trip to Venice?

[edit] Trivia

  • While everyone is shouting that they are Mikey, one shouts at random "I'm Spartacus!" a homage to the movie Spartacus. He then makes appearances in succeeding episodes to shout out something at the most opportune moment.
  • This episode shares the name of the Doors song "Ship of Fools". Ship of Fools is also the name of a movie Another name-sharing case: There's a song named "Ship of Fools" by Erasure.
  • While Mikey is trying to get a copy of the game from someone, among the people is Chun-Li from the Street Fighter series.
  • Some of the pirates vaguely resemble characters from One Piece.
  • When Mikey steps out of his limo, the boy that says,"You mean look at all my fans," could be what Mikey would look like as an anime character.
  • One of the people Mikey tried stealing a game copy from resembles Yoh Asakura of Shaman King, but with blonde hair. (It should be noted that Mikey's voice actor Michael Sinterniklaas had a big role in the english dub as Horohoro)
