Shinkamigotō, Nagasaki

Shinkamigotō (新上五島町 Shinkamigotō-chō?) is a town located in Minamimatsuura District, Nagasaki, Japan.
The town was established in August 1, 2004 after the merger of Arikawa, Kamigotō, Wakamatsu, Shin'uonome, and Narao towns. It occupies Nakadōri and Wakamatsu islands, which form the northeast half of the Gotō Islands .
As of May 1, 2004, the town has an estimated population of 25,870 and a density of 121.00 persons per km². The total area is 213.8 km².
