Shimonita (下仁田町 Shimonita-machi?) is a town located in Kanra District, Gunma, Japan.
As of September 1, 2007, the town had an estimated population of 9,693 and a density of 55.25 persons per km². The total area is 188.27 km².
Shimonita is famous for its konjac and welsh onion.
