This article is about the town named Shimane, which is in Shimane Prefecture.
Shimane (島根町 Shimane-chō?) was a town located in Yatsuka District, Shimane, Japan. On March 31, 2005, Shimane merged into the city of Matsue.
As of 2003, the town had an estimated population of 4,292 and a density of 115.25 persons per km². The total area was 37.24 km².
